The conversation around curly and natural hair is getting better, but questions still remain. The questions come from women with curly hair to other women with curly hair, as well as people without curly hair to someone with curly hair.
Frustration:
There are generations of people with curly hair, many in the African American community, who still don't know how to care for their own hair. They go to a salon, not because they want some pampering, but because they don't know what to do to the strands growing from their scalp.
I understand the frustration! For women our hair is our crown. When our hair looks good, we look and feel good. I would think I was taking care of my hair, only to end up with damaged hair from over manipulation. Leaving my hair alone would leave it dry, brittle and prone to breakage.
Finding What Works:
Finding what works for your curly or natural hair is like living in the dark and someone turning on the light. After shifting my focus from growing inches to growing healthy hair, I've been able to grow my natural curly hair from a pixie cut to the middle of my back.
Decision to blog:
Its now time to share what I've learned, to help someone else on their hair journey. We're going to talk about everything from hair care and styles, to products and DIY treatments. We'll also have some real talk about the emotional journey of caring for natural or curly hair, debunk some myths, and highlight people who will inspire you.

I also want this to be a conversation, so don't be afraid to leave a comment about what you read, share some advice or suggest a topic to talk about next time.
